John Morris Walls, III was born in Houston, Texas on December 19, 1958, to Jeanetta Sheffield Walls and the late John M. Walls, Jr.

He graduated from Lamar High School in 1977. In 1982, he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from Texas Southern University. After graduation, he worked for his family at Walls Ethical Pharmacy until 1985, at which time he became employed at Walgreens. He enjoyed a successful career as a pharmacist and Pharmacy supervisor for over thirty-seven years at Walgreens and retired in January 2022.

In 1985, John united in marriage with Genevieve Simon and was blessed with two wonderful daughters, Lauren Elizabeth, and Kelsey Genevieve.

John, affectionately known to some as “Johnny” enjoyed many hobbies and interests. At an early age, John would spend time visiting relatives in Cologne, Texas. This is where he developed his love for horseback riding and cattle. He became a true “country boy”. Throughout this time, he also found his love for hunting and fishing. One of his most recent joys was riding around on his new John Deere tractor.

One of his favorite things to do was the beach vacations with his family every summer. During these vacations, he enjoyed fishing and crabbing. John loved cooking, especially for special occasions for family and friends.

John was a loving and devoted husband, father, and friend. He was a source of strength for those around him and someone you could always depend on when you were in need. He had the gift of making everyone feel like family. We will miss John dearly, but we are so grateful for the time we had to spend with him. We will always feel his presence in our hearts.

He was preceded in death by his father, John M. Walls, Jr., and his sister, Jeannine D. Walls.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Genevieve, and their two daughters, Lauren and Kelsey: his mother, Jeanetta, and his brother, Ronald as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
