Mildred White

September 10, 1937 – February 25, 2025

Ms. Mildred Beatrice White was born September 10, 1937 in Houston (Harris County), Texas to Ida Lee and Gussie White.

Mildred graduated from Fidelity Manor High School in 1955, attended Prairie View A&M University for two years in Elementary Education, Erma Hughes & Johnson’s Schools of Business for one and a half years, Texas Southern University for one year in Business Administration.

Mildred was employed for over 30 years by Neighborhood Centers, Olin Corporation, Mobil Oil, and Exxon Co., U.S.A, until she was laid off in 1992. She moved to Sierra Vista, Arizona, where she enrolled in the JTPA/CPIC Program in Entrepreneurial Training, received a certificate with a $3,000 Grant, and opened her Home-based Business “Specialty Baking by Mama Mil”. In April 2000 she returned home to Houston and worked with Hallmark as a Retail Merchandiser until 2008 when she retired. Yet, even after that, she would often bake goods to share and express thanks to friends and service providers.  In her later years, her favorite pastimes were reading the “Daily Word” Devotionals, solving “Puzzle” books, listening to her favorite music, watching her favorite TV shows, and sitting on the back porch while bird-watching and drinking jasmine tea.

Mildred was married and gave birth to three sons, one of which preceded her in death (Rory Kimble). She is survived by Zanvyl (Ziggy) Morrow of Houston, Houston, Texas, and Errol D. Kimble of Tucson, Arizona, three grandchildren: Alecia Kimble, Shante Kimble, and Asher Skye Dunlap, two great-grandchildren; Two Sisters: Dolores Paris of Garland, TX, and Rosemary Smith of California and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
